What is VOM?

Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation

VOM is an acronym for Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation, which is a non-manual technique of animal chiropractic. This non-invasive healing technology locates vertebral lesions, known in the chiropractic world as subluxations. A subluxation of an animal's nervous system prevents correct communication with the brain. VOM re-establishes the neural communication and re-aligns the spine. A VOM practitioner will find and reduce all neuronal subluxations through a series of adjustments with an instrument. This form of chiropractic care for animals uses the body’s own healing abilities and the relationship between the spine and nervous system to restore and maintain good health. The list of injuries, illnesses and disorders a veterinary chiropractic can help is extensive and will continue to expand as more and more pet patients are treated by licensed animal chiropractors.

Don't hesitate to call or email if you have questions as to whether animal chiropractic could help your pet's condition. Our practice couples VOM with Laser therapy to create the most beneficial treatment for pets and their conditions. Both are non-invasive and effective. To read more about the effects of low level laser therapy, also known as cold laser, please visit the cold laser section of our site.
